Units are volume, not dose
A unit on a U-100 insulin syringe is exactly 0.01 ml. It says nothing about how much peptide you are drawing until you know the concentration — the vial size divided by the water you added.
That is why "how many units is 0.25 mg" has no universal answer. With 2500 mcg per ml it is 10 units; mix the same vial with half the water and the same dose becomes 5 units.
